Chapter 3 – The Fall Before Sunrise

Chapter 3 – The Fall Before Sunrise
By seven o'clock...
News channels exploded.
LAWSON GROUP FACES FINANCIAL COLLAPSE.
UNKNOWN INVESTORS WITHDRAW BILLIONS.
BOARD CALLS EMERGENCY VOTE.
Andrew raced into headquarters wearing yesterday's tuxedo.
The lobby that once welcomed him with applause now greeted him with silence.
No one smiled.
No one congratulated him.
No one even met his eyes.
The boardroom doors opened.
Twelve directors sat waiting.
At the far end of the table...
Mariana.
Dressed in a tailored ivory suit.
Elegant.
Unshaken.
She looked nothing like the woman he had thrown out hours earlier.
Andrew laughed nervously.
"What kind of joke is this?"
No one answered.
Richard Hale rose first.
"Mr. Lawson..."
"You own precisely three percent of this company."
Andrew blinked.
"What?"
"The remaining ninety-seven percent has always belonged to Escalante Holdings."
Richard placed document after document onto the table.
Original contracts.
Investment agreements.
Shareholder records.
Bank guarantees.
Signed.
Stamped.
Perfectly legal.
Andrew's face drained of color.
"No..."
"That's impossible."
Victor Escalante entered quietly.
Every board member immediately stood.
Even Andrew did.
Without realizing it.
Victor spoke only one sentence.
"Meet the woman who built your success."
Silence consumed the room.
Mariana slid one final document toward Andrew.
"Your resignation."
His hands shook.
"You lied to me."
She finally looked directly into his eyes.
"No."
"I protected you."
"You simply never cared enough to ask who kept saving you."
Andrew's knees weakened.
Every memory suddenly made sense.
Every miracle.
Every impossible loan approval.
Every unexpected investor.
Every crisis that somehow disappeared overnight.
It had never been luck.
It had been Mariana.
Brenda stormed into the building moments later.
She still believed she could fix everything.
Instead...
Security stopped her.
"I'm here to see Andrew."
"I'm sorry."
"Mr. Lawson no longer has authorization to enter executive areas."
She stared in disbelief.
Margaret arrived minutes later.
Demanding explanations.
Demanding respect.
Demanding control.
For the first time in decades...
No one listened.
Within one hour...
Andrew lost his title.
His office.
His voting rights.
His company.
By noon...
His mansion entered foreclosure proceedings.
The luxury cars were repossessed.
Private accounts remained frozen.
The life he believed belonged to him...
Vanished before lunch.
May you like
Everything Mariana had promised...
Had happened before sunrise.
