One year later, Sarah visited Walter's farm.
A small stone memorial stood beneath the old oak tree.
It bore only a few names.
Elena Torres
A Friend.
A Guardian.
She Chose Courage Over Comfort.
Sarah placed fresh white lilies at its base.
Walter stood beside her in silence.
"You know," he said softly, "people keep calling you the woman who brought down the Rossi empire."
Sarah smiled gently.
"They're wrong."
Walter raised an eyebrow.
"Oh?"
"I didn't bring it down."
She looked toward the endless mountains where the blizzard had once nearly claimed their lives.
"I simply refused to walk away from someone who needed help."
