The Architect of Their Ruin / Chapter 5 / 6

Chapter 5

The next few days passed in a beautiful,

chaotic blur of aggressive legal maneuvering and highly satisfying destruction.

The local news stations got ahold of the scandalous,

dramatic story almost immediately,

broadcasting Jameson's spectacular,

humiliating downfall to the entire city.

The footage of Brooke sprinting across my manicured,

expensive lawn wearing a black plastic garbage bag went completely,

incredibly viral on social media.

Jameson attempted to hire a massive,

expensive defense team to fight the aggressive corporate takeover,

but no respectable lawyer would take his case without a massive,

upfront retainer fee.

Since his accounts were completely frozen,

and his credit score was absolutely destroyed,

he was forced to rely on a cheap,

overworked public defender who barely returned his desperate,

panicked phone calls.

I spent my mornings sitting comfortably on my sun-drenched,

spacious patio,

drinking expensive,

imported tea,

and reviewing the legal documents that transferred his remaining,

worthless business assets directly into my name.

I officially liquidated his entire,

failing company,

selling off his equipment,

his leased office space,

and his client lists for absolute pennies on the dollar.

The massive,

crushing weight of the penalty fees kept piling up on his personal ledger,

ensuring he would never,

ever be able to crawl out from under the massive mountain of debt he owed me.

His parents,

meanwhile,

were formally evicted from their cozy,

suburban home,

forced to move into a tiny,

cramped apartment on the very bad,

dangerous side of town.

Eliana constantly tried to call my personal cell phone,

leaving dozens of desperate,

crying,

begging voicemails pleading for financial mercy.

I never answered a single one of them,

simply forwarding the pathetic,

weeping audio files directly to my ruthless legal team for strict archiving purposes.

I felt absolutely no guilt,

no remorse,

and no sadness whatsoever.

They had plotted maliciously,

greedily,

and cruelly to steal everything I had built,

and they had smiled brightly while trying to destroy my spirit.

I merely returned their dark,

evil energy back to them,

amplified by a thousand,

wrapping their own greedy choices around their necks like a tight,

unforgiving rope.

Justice was not just blind,

in this particular case,

May you like

it was wonderfully,

beautifully vengeful.
