CHAPTER 5: The Fall and the Rise

Six months later, the trial ended.

Santiago Rivas was sentenced.

So was Beatriz.

Their empire? Gone.

Every asset seized, every lie exposed.

Justice, at last.

But the real victory wasn’t theirs falling.

It was mine rising.

I stood on the balcony of my father’s home, Mateo in my arms, watching the sunset paint the sky in gold and fire.

"You gave me a second chance," I whispered to him.

He gurgled softly, gripping my finger.

And in that moment, I understood something powerful—

I had never truly been powerless.

I had only forgotten who I was.

Behind me, my father’s voice was calm but proud.

"The world knows your name now, Valeria Salazar."

I smiled.

"No," I said gently.

"They’ll know his."

I kissed Mateo’s forehead.

And as the sun disappeared beyond the horizon, I stepped forward into a future no one could ever take from me again.

Because this time—

I wasn’t hiding.

And I wasn’t afraid.

I was finally free.
