Chapter 10 - THE EMERGENCY BOARD MEETING

While we prepared our legal assault,
the board of directors at Holloway Enterprises convened an emergency meeting.
Marcus was barred from entering the building,
security guards stopping him at the glass doors he owned.
He stood outside in the cold,
surrounded by paparazzi who shouted mocking questions at him.
Inside the boardroom,
the atmosphere was incredibly grim,
the air thick with corporate panic.
The board chair,
Arthur Pendelton,
slammed his fist onto the long mahogany table.
"He has destroyed fifty years of brand equity in five seconds,"
Arthur roared,
looking at the falling stock ticker.
"The public is boycotting our products globally,"
another board member pointed out,
holding up a tablet showing massive protests.
"We have no choice but to strip him of his voting shares,"
Arthur declared,
initiating the formal vote.
The motion passed unanimously,
with even his oldest allies voting against him to save their investments.
Marcus was officially terminated from the company he created,
his name removed from the letterhead.
A corporate statement was issued immediately,
condemning his actions in the strongest possible terms.
They pledged a multi-million dollar donation to child advocacy groups,
hoping to stem the financial bleeding.
But the damage was already done,
the brand forever stained by the image of the red dress in the snow.

Marcus received the formal notification via email while sitting in his car,
realizing he had lost his ultimate source of power.
