Chapter 7 - THE CRUMBLING EMPIRE

Julian let out a sharp, dismissive laugh, stepping closer to Lucas. "Are you out of your mind? Who let this lunatic into the house? Mom, call security right now!"

Beatrice didn't move. She stood with her hands folded, looking at Julian with a mixture of pity and cold detachment. "There is no security to call, Julian. I dismissed them an hour ago."

Julian’s smirk faltered. He looked around the room, noticing the tense, heavy atmosphere. "Mom? What are you talking about? What is going on here?"

Arthur Miller stepped forward from the shadows of the staircase, his weathered face set in hard lines. "It means, son, that the game is over. The house of cards you and your father built has finally collapsed."

"Son?!" Julian snapped, his face turning red with rage. "Don't you ever call me that, you old dirtbag! Guard, get—!"

"He is your father, Julian," I interrupted, stepping forward, my voice cutting through the foyer like a razor blade.

Julian spun around to face me, his eyes wide and uncomprehending. "Clara, have you lost your damn mind? What are you talking about?"

I pulled the legal-grade DNA report from my pocket and tossed it onto the mahogany console table right in front of him.

"Read it, Julian," I commanded. "Page one: you have zero genetic relation to Lily. Page two: you have zero genetic relation to Beatrice or the late Victor Vance. Forty years ago, Victor stole Arthur Miller’s newborn baby from a hospital nursery and raised him as his own corporate heir to spite his wife. That baby was you."

Julian froze. He stared down at the paper as if it were a venomous snake. His hands began to shake, the color draining entirely from his smooth, manicured face.

"No," Julian whispered, backing away slowly, shaking his head in frantic denial. "No, that's impossible. I'm a Vance! I own this company! I sit on the board! I am the heir to this empire!"

"You were an interloper riding on stolen blood," Lucas said quietly, stepping forward with Lily still resting safely on his hip. "Just like your 'father' Victor, you thought wealth and power gave you the right to treat human beings like property. You tortured my daughter. You locked her outside like an animal."

Julian’s eyes darted toward Lucas, pure hatred flashing in his dark pupils. "You think you can just walk in here and take my life?! I'll sue you! I'll ruin you! I'll have you thrown in prison!"

"You won't do anything of the sort, Julian," a deep, authoritative voice echoed from the doorway.

We all turned. Federal marshals in tactical gear stepped across the threshold, accompanied by a senior partner from the Vance family’s corporate legal counsel.

The attorney held a thick manila folder, looking directly at Julian with professional coldness. "Mr. Vance—or Mr. Miller, as your birth certificate formally dictates—we have executed an emergency federal asset freeze on all your personal trust accounts, corporate shares, and executive properties. The forensic audit initiated this morning confirms that you embezzled twelve million dollars from the family foundation over the last three years to fund your private offshore lifestyle."

Julian’s knees buckled. He grabbed the edge of the console table to keep from collapsing, his breath coming in ragged, shallow gasps. "Mom... Mother, tell them it's a lie! Tell them you won't let them do this!"

Beatrice looked down at her adopted son—the boy she had raised, who had grown into a cruel, unfeeling replica of his corrupt father—and turned her face away without saying a single word.

The marshals stepped forward, placing cold steel handcuffs around Julian’s wrists. As they dragged him toward the front doors, kicking and screaming in hysterical denial, the door slammed shut behind him, sealing the final chapter of the Vance family's reign of terror.
