Part 11: The Secret Deficit

Three weeks after the estate eviction, a silent system alert pinged on my private workstation terminal at midnight.

A hidden escrow node in Chicago had just initiated a request to access Khloe's legacy tracking numbers.

I sat up in the quiet dark of the office, the screen illuminating the room with a cold glow.

The access attempt was using an old administrative key registered to Richard’s former corporate secretary, Evelyn.

"Harrison," Naomi Pierce’s voice came through the secure encrypted channel, her tone sharp with immediate warning.

"Someone is attempting to reactivate a dormant offshore insurance bond that was omitted from the initial bankruptcy dockets."

"The bond holds a balance of five million dollars, established under an alias Richard used in 2018," she stated.

I opened the unredacted account summaries, my fingers moving steadily across the interface to trace the destination path.

The data packets weren't routing to a standard financial institution or an authorized asset management group.

They were being directed to a high-end medical clinic in Switzerland where Vanessa's sister was currently residing.

"They are trying to fund a secondary legal team to challenge the child custody agreement," Naomi added.

"They believe that because you are focused on Khloe's recovery, you won't trace the legacy utility lines."

I initialized a direct counter-intercept protocol, embedding a tracking watermark inside the outbound data file.

"Let the transmission proceed for exactly sixty seconds, Naomi," I ordered coldly, my jaw setting like iron.

"We are going to let them expose the identity of the offshore bankers facilitating the bypass."
