Chapter 8
Harrison did not move,
keeping his back against a solid pillar.
The silence returned,
heavy and suffocating.
He realized entering the warehouse alone was a mistake,
driven by pure adrenaline.
He slowly backed out,
keeping his eyes on the dark corners.

As he reached the exit,
the bright sunlight hit his face,
blinding him for a second.
He walked back to his car,
his mind spinning with questions.
The person who called him wanted him here,
wanted him to feel vulnerable.
He drove back to the office,
demanding a full security review of his home.
Marcus called again,
his voice filled with urgency.
"Harrison,
the burner phone was bought with a credit card."
"Whose card?"
Harrison asked,
gripping the steering wheel tighter.
"A shell company,"
Marcus revealed,
"linked to the Vance Corporation."
Harrison froze,
the name hitting him like a physical blow.
The Vance Corporation was his greatest victory from three years ago.
He had exposed their corruption,
sending their CEO to federal prison.
The company had collapsed,
ruining hundreds of powerful people.
It seemed someone wanted revenge,
and they were willing to wait for it.
"Find out who currently controls those assets,"
Harrison ordered.
"The CEO is still behind bars,
so someone else is pulling the strings."
He arrived at his house,
finding the security team on high alert.
He walked inside,
finding Khloe reading a book in the living room.
She looked up,
sensing his intense energy.
"Harrison,
you need to tell me what is happening,"
she said firmly.
"I am not a child,
and I won't be kept in the dark."
Harrison sat opposite her,

rubbing his temples.
He knew he could no longer hide the truth from her.
"The phone call last night,"
he began slowly,
"it was a threat."
Khloe's face turned pale,
her fingers gripping the book tightly.
"Is it happening again?"
she whispered,
her voice trembling.
"No,"
Harrison said fiercely,
taking her hands in his.
"I won't let it."
"I am investigating it now,
and I have a lead."
"It involves an old corporate case,
the Vance lawsuit."
Khloe took a deep breath,
trying to steady her breathing.
"We survived the courthouse,
Harrison."
"We can survive this too."
Her strength surprised him,
proving she was no longer the victim.
They stood together,
united against an unseen enemy.
Later that night,
Harrison reviewed the old Vance files.
He looked at the names of the executives,
the board members,
and the lawyers.
One name stood out,
a junior partner who had disappeared after the trial.
Julian Vance,

the son of the disgraced CEO.
Julian had sworn revenge in the courtroom,
a detail Harrison had dismissed at the time.
Now,
it seemed the son had returned to finish the father's war.
Harrison stared at the photograph of Julian,
a young man with cold,
calculating eyes.
"I see you,"
May you like
Harrison muttered to the empty room.
"And I am coming for you."
