Chapter 9 - THE TRAITORS BEG FOR MERCY

Back at hospital,
Charles Vance senior,
arrived with Helen,
standing outside door,
asking to enter.
The guards blocked,
them immediately clear,
refusing their passage,
until Caleb came,
out to look.
Caleb stood there,
arms crossed tight,
staring at parents,
and his aunt,
with pure ice.
"What do you,"
"want from me,"
he asked coldly,
"you have nerve,"
"showing faces here."
"Caleb please listen,"
Charles pleaded out,
"the family company,"
"is losing value,"
"every single hour."
"We are sorry,"
Helen wept aloud,
"I should have,"
"stopped Vanessa then,"
"I was scared."
"You were not,"
"scared of her,"
Caleb barked out,
"you were enjoying,"
"the cruel show,"
"sipping your drink."
"You chose silence,"
"when my wife,"
"was being assaulted,"
"and my child,"
"was in danger."
"Now you want,"
"mercy from me,"
"because your pockets,"
"are hurting bad,"
"you disgust me."
"Please son speak,"
"to your grandfather,"
Charles begged him,
"he cut us,"
"off from funds,"
"we are broke."
"Good for you,"
Caleb laughed coldly,
"learn to work,"
"like regular people,"
"from the dirt."
"Get out now,"
he told them,
"before I call,"
"the hospital security,"
"to drag you."
Charles and Helen,
looked down ashamed,
turning away slow,
walking down hall,
their spirits crushed.
The wealthy elites,
were now beggars,
reaping the seeds,
of their silence,
and their greed.
Caleb walked back,
into the room,
seeing Olivia smiling,
proud of him,
holding her blanket.
"They got what,"
"they deserved honey,"
she said quietly,
"no more money,"
"to hide sins."
"Exactly my love,"
he sat down,
"their money is,"
"completely gone now,"
"and our future,"
"is bright blue."
The door opened,
and detective entered,
holding a file,
looking very pleased,
with news ready.
"We found her,"
the detective said,
"Vanessa is caught,"
"arrested in alley,"
"just ten minutes,"
"ago near club."
Olivia gasped out,
holding her chest,
feeling the relief,
May you like
flood her soul,
ending the fear.
