Chapter 6

Exactly one incredible,
blissful month after the disastrous incident at the plaza,
Blake blindfolded me and led me to his private helicopter.
The powerful blades whirred loudly overhead,
as we soared quickly over the sparkling,
turquoise waters of the vast ocean.
When he finally removed the soft silk blindfold,
I gasped in pure,
unadulterated amazement at the stunning view below us.
We were landing on a breathtaking,
secluded private island,
surrounded entirely by pristine white sand and crystal clear waves.
A beautiful,
floral archway was set up right on the romantic beach,
decorated with thousands of delicate,
fragrant white roses.
A small,
intimate group of Blake's closest,
most trusted friends stood waiting by the beautiful altar.
"What is all of this,"
I asked,
tears of absolute joy welling up in my wide,
astonished eyes.
Blake took my hand gently,
helping me step down from the helicopter and onto the soft,
warm sand.
"You never got to experience a proper,
beautiful celebration of our love,"
he explained softly,
kissing my knuckles with deep,
endless reverence.
"Our first wedding in Aspen was quiet and rushed,
and your sister's horrible wedding was a traumatic,
miserable nightmare."
He stopped walking,
turning me fully to face him under the bright,
golden afternoon sun.
"I want to renew our solemn vows today,"
Blake continued,
his voice thick with genuine,
overwhelming emotion,
"here,
in front of people who actually respect and cherish you."
I threw my arms around his strong neck,
hugging him so tightly I could hear his steady,
comforting heartbeat.
"It is incredibly perfect,"
I whispered against his warm,
tanned skin,
feeling happier than I had ever thought biologically possible.
Later that evening,
after a beautiful ceremony filled with heartfelt promises,
we danced barefoot under a spectacular canopy of bright stars.
There were no toxic relatives,
no cruel whispers,
and absolutely no fake,
condescending smiles from judgmental society elites.
There was only the soothing,
rhythmic sound of the ocean waves,
the sweet smell of blooming roses,
and the comforting warmth of my wonderful husband.
I looked down at the massive,
glittering diamond on my left hand,
reflecting the soft,
romantic light of the tiki torches.
The girl who was viciously shoved into a cold fountain was entirely,
permanently gone.
In her place stood a strong,
confident,
May you like
and fiercely protected queen,
ready to rule a vast empire right beside the man who loved her flawlessly.
