Part 13: The Signature Fault
The courtroom fell into an absolute, suffocating silence as the data synced with the state registry.
Vanessa’s confident, arrogant smile vanished from her face, replaced by an ugly mask of pure terror.
"This is a complete fabrication!" she shrieked, standing up so fast her luxury handbag fell to the floor.
"My client signed a legitimate indemnity waiver with Ryan Voss!" her attorney shouted, trying to intervene.
"Sit down, counselor," Judge Thornton ordered, her voice cutting through the noise like a scalpel.
"The digital signature on this waiver was lifted from a 2024 tax document, according to the forensic screen."
She signed the master registry order before her with a heavy, final stroke of her pen.
"The petition for an emergency injunction is denied with prejudice," the judge announced loudly.
"Furthermore, under the provisions of the lifestyle protection covenant, I am issuing an immediate arrest warrant."
"For grand larceny, identity fraud, and systematic corporate perjury against Vanessa Hale."
Two uniformed court officers immediately moved behind Vanessa’s chair, their heavy boots loud on the floor.
The steel handcuffs clicked shut around her manicured wrists before her lawyers could even close their portfolios.
I stood up, adjusting the lapels of my winter coat, looking down at her without an ounce of pity.

"You thought my silence meant I was broken, Vanessa," I said softly as she was led away.
"But I was simply waiting for the ledger to be completely clear."
