Part 28

As the months marched on, the bright green of summer slowly transitioned into the crisp, golden hues of autumn.

The air grew sharper, the ocean waves became larger and more dramatic, and the glass house felt even more cozy.

Ava’s pregnancy had progressed beautifully, her belly now a proud, round circle that announced her impending motherhood.

She spent her mornings working on her writing, her journal now transforming into a full manuscript of their journey.

She didn't write to dwell on the horror; she wrote to show how love could pull a person out of the deepest grave.

Daniel had finished a whole collection of new paintings, each one filled with incredible light and open spaces.

A gallery owner from Boston had discovered his work online and begged him to do a solo exhibition in the city.

In the past, the idea of exposing himself to the public eye would have filled Daniel with an paralyzing dread.

But now, standing in his studio with Ava by his side, he felt a strange, exciting sense of readiness.

"What do you think, Ava?" he asked, holding the gallery’s official contract in his hand, looking down at her.

"Should we show the world what we’ve created here, or should we keep it all to ourselves?"

Ava smiled, placing both hands on her large belly, feeling a strong, supportive kick from within.

"I think the world needs your light, Daniel," she said, her voice filled with an unshakeable faith in him.

"Your art is proof that beauty can grow from ashes. You shouldn't hide that. You should share it proudly."

Daniel nodded, a new sense of purpose settling into his chest as he signed his name on the legal document.

They agreed that they wouldn't travel to the city for the opening; their peace here was too sacred to disrupt.

The art would travel to the world, but they would remain rooted in their beautiful glass sanctuary by the sea.

That evening, they celebrated by lighting a fire and playing old jazz records, dancing slowly in the living room.

Daniel held her gently, his movements careful and protective, keeping her safe within the circle of his strong arms.

They were no longer running from anything; they were standing completely still, letting the blessings catch up to them.
