Part 30

Two weeks later, on a night when the full moon turned the Atlantic into a sheet of liquid silver, it finally happened.

Ava woke up not to pain, but to a quiet, undeniable inner knowing that the moment had officially arrived.

She didn't scream or panic; she simply reached over and touched Daniel’s shoulder, whispering his name.

He opened his eyes, seeing the radiant, calm smile on her face, illuminated by the bright moonlight outside.

"It's time," she said softly, and this time, there was no doubt, no hesitation, and no false alarm.

The next twelve hours were a blur of intense, beautiful labor, a sacred dance of pain, strength, and love.

They chose to stay at the glass house, a local, highly experienced midwife guiding them through the natural process.

Daniel never left her side for a single second, his hands providing physical support, his voice providing spiritual strength.

He became her rock, absorbing her pain, pouring his own life force into her with every breath he took.

Rosa kept the fire burning bright, bringing warm cloths and whispering ancient prayers of protection in the hallway.

As the sun began to break over the horizon, casting a brilliant golden light through the glass, a sharp cry rang out.

It was a loud, powerful, beautiful sound that shattered the morning silence and changed their world forever.

The midwife carefully placed the newborn child onto Ava’s bare chest, a healthy, perfect little baby boy.

Ava let out a sobbing laugh, her hands instantly wrapping around the warm, tiny miracle resting against her skin.

Daniel collapsed beside her, tears streaming down his face as he looked at his son, his heart breaking open completely.

He pressed his forehead against Ava's, their tears mixing together as they looked down at the new life they had created.

"He's here, Daniel. He's safe," Ava whispered, her voice thick with an emotion too grand for human language.

"He is born into the light," Daniel murmured, his hand gently covering both Ava and their beautiful son.

The war was over, the shadows were gone, and out of the ashes of their past, a new life had begun.
