Part 59

"The western ridge is an excellent choice, Ethan," Alexander said without a moment's hesitation, his voice filled with warm approval.
"The soil is incredibly stable there, and the view of the sunset is the finest on the entire property."
Sofia let out a joyful breath, her face lighting up with a brilliant smile that made her look incredibly beautiful in the twilight.
"We already drew up some basic blueprints," she said, reaching into her bag to pull out a rolled sheet of heavy sketch paper.
She unrolled it on the table, securing the corners with our wine glasses so we could all see the layout they had imagined.
The design was modest but exceptionally elegant, featuring large windows to let in the natural light and a wide front porch.
It was a house designed for a growing family, with plenty of space for children to play and a large kitchen for family gatherings.
I leaned over the drawing, my heart swelling with an intense pride as I looked at the detailed annotations Ethan had made.
"It’s perfect, Sofia," I said softly, looking up to meet her eyes. "It represents everything we ever wanted for you."
Ethan smiled, placing a grateful hand on Alexander's shoulder, a silent acknowledgement of the support that meant everything to him.
"We will begin clearing the timber next week," Ethan said, his eyes shining with the determination of a man building his legacy.
"The local carpenters have already offered to help us raise the main frame before the autumn rains begin to fall."
Alexander stood up, raising his glass high into the warm night air, his eyes reflecting the brilliant light of the lanterns above.

"To the western ridge, and to the new home that will guard the future of our family," Alexander toasted with profound pride.
We all raised our glasses, the beautiful sound of clinking crystal echoing out into the darkness, a declaration of our endless growth.
