Chapter 10

The moment Miller received the green light signal,

the entire mountain began to shake with incredible violence,

as the ghost team initiated their massive aerial bombardment.

Heavy missiles slammed directly into the exterior fortifications,

and the deafening sound of explosions echoed through the halls,

throwing the entire Syndicate base into absolute chaos.

The blaring red emergency alarms instantly triggered,

and the automated blast doors began to heavily engage,

trying to seal the facility off from the ongoing attack.

Lily worked frantically to override the lockdown protocols,

and she kept the primary corridors completely open for us,

allowing us to push deeper into the heart of the bunker.

We moved swiftly and aggressively down the concrete hallway,

and we encountered heavily armed resistance at every single turn,

but they were highly disorganized and completely terrified.

They had never been attacked in their own sanctuary,

and their profound arrogance had made them incredibly weak,

which gave us a massive and deadly tactical advantage.

I cleared room after room with ruthless and cold precision,

and I utilized flashbangs to blind the entrenched defenders,

while dropping them with highly accurate rifle fire.

Lily followed closely behind my protective cover,

and she constantly updated my tactical heads-up display,

feeding me the exact real-time locations of enemy forces.

We reached the primary elevator leading to the command level,

and the heavy steel doors were magnetically sealed shut,

requiring a master biometric override to open properly.

I cannot slice this specific magnetic lock remotely,

Lily stated in frustration,

and the encryption requires a direct physical keycard.

Then we will create our own door,

I replied coldly,

and I pulled a block of heavy C4 from my tactical pouch.

I placed the explosive charge directly on the center seam,

and we retreated behind a thick concrete support pillar,

covering our ears to block out the massive sound.

I detonated the heavy charge with a remote trigger,

and the massive steel doors were completely blown inward,

filling the elevator shaft with thick, choking gray smoke.

We climbed up the cables inside the dark, ruined shaft,

and we reached the upper executive command level,

which was decorated with incredibly lavish and stolen artwork.

Kael was hiding at the very end of the plush hallway,

and he was securely locked inside a reinforced panic room,

surrounded by his most elite and deadly personal guards.

The guards saw us emerge from the smoky elevator shaft,

and they opened fire with incredibly heavy machine guns,

shredding the priceless paintings and expensive marble walls.

I dove behind a heavy overturned mahogany desk for cover,

and I returned highly concentrated and suppressing fire,

while Lily accessed a nearby environmental control panel.

I am venting the halon gas into their exact sector,

she yelled,

and the fire suppression system instantly activated.

A thick, blinding white cloud of gas filled the hallway,

and it completely choked the remaining elite guards,

forcing them to blindly stumble out of their defensive positions.

I eliminated them easily as they desperately gasped for air,

and the hallway finally fell completely and eerily silent,

leaving only the heavily reinforced door of the panic room.

Kael was trapped inside like a deeply frightened animal,

and he had absolutely nowhere left to run or hide,

because his entire criminal empire was collapsing around him.

I walked up to the thick, impenetrable steel door,

and I placed my hand flat against the cold metal surface,

knowing that the man who ordered the hit on my daughter was inside.

You cannot hide from the ghosts of your past,

I yelled through the heavy and solid steel door,

and your incredibly corrupt reign is officially over.

We prepared to breach the final and ultimate barrier,

and end the brutal legacy of the Syndicate forever.
