Part 19: The Full Circle
Five years after Mia graduated, she got engaged.
Her fiancé was a kind, steady man named Ryan — a teacher who reminded Julia of Ethan in the best ways. He treated Mia with respect and never tried to rush her into anything.
When Mia brought him home to meet Julia and Ethan, Julia watched the way he looked at her daughter and felt a deep sense of peace.
Later that night, after Ryan left, Mia asked Julia:

“Do you think Dad would have liked him?”
Julia thought about it honestly.
Julia
“I don’t know. But I know that it doesn’t matter what he would have thought. What matters is what you think.”
Mia smiled.
Mia
“I think he’s a good man. And I think I’m ready.”
