CHAPTER 2: THE SCREEN DOESN’T LIE

The footage played on a tablet in the middle of the room.

No edits.
No interruptions.
No escape.

Every second unfolded in brutal clarity.

Khloe stepping back.

Isabella advancing.

The shove.

The fall.

And then—

The kick.

Sharp. Deliberate. Violent.

A collective gasp filled the room.

Elaine covered her mouth.

One of the guards muttered under his breath.

Marcus didn’t react at first.

He just stared.

As if his mind refused to process what his eyes had already accepted.

Then slowly…

he stood.

When he turned to Isabella, there was no confusion left in his face.

Only something far colder.

“You kicked my wife.”

It wasn’t a question.

Isabella’s lips parted.

“I—I panicked—she—”

“Stop.”

His voice cut through her like glass.

“For weeks, I let this continue,” Marcus said quietly.
“I thought it was jealousy. Petty rivalry.”

He took one step closer.

“I didn’t realize I had invited a monster into my life.”

Her mask shattered.

“Marcus, listen to me—”

“Take her.”

The guards didn’t hesitate.

As they grabbed her arms, Isabella’s voice broke into hysteria.

“You can’t do this! Do you know who I am?!”

Marcus didn’t even look at her again.

“I know exactly who you are.”

May you like

And for the first time—

she had no power left to hide behind.
