Chapter 10

The midnight air bit,

painfully against her skin,

as they approached docks.

They moved like shadows,

blending into dark corners,

avoiding the bright searchlights.

The shipping yard was,

filled with massive containers,

stacked up like towers.

Clara held a small,

electronic hacking device that,

Marco had built earlier.

They reached the fence,

and she attached it,

to the control box.

The green light flashed,

the security fence opened,

without making a sound.

They slipped inside quickly,

running between the giant,

metal boxes of cargo.

Voices echoed in distance,

two guards were walking,

their flashlights cutting dark.

Clara pressed her back,

against a cold container,

holding her breath tightly.

The guards walked past,

laughing about some joke,

not noticing her presence.

Once the danger passed,

she signaled to Marco,

and they moved forward.

They reached the main,

office building made of,

old brick and steel.

The door was locked,

but Marco picked it,

in less than ten,

seconds of silent work.

They entered the dark,

room smelling of old,

paper and cheap tobacco.

Clara found the main,

computer terminal sitting in,

the far corner booth.

She inserted a drive,

downloading all the files,

from Blackwood's private network.

The progress bar crept,

slowly across the screen,

torturing her with anticipation.

Ten percent completed now,

twenty percent moving up,

as time ticked away.

Suddenly an alarm blared,

loud and piercing red,

waking up the entire,

shipping yard in seconds.

"We are compromised Boss,"

Marco shouted drawing his,

suppressed weapon very quickly.

"The download is at,

eighty percent right now,

I am not leaving,"

Clara said with determination,

staring at the screen.

She would get answers,

no matter the cost,

May you like

or the physical danger,

that surrounded them now.
