Chapter 7 - The Desperation of a Fallen KingJulian looked around frantically,

realizing that none of his usual allies were going to step forward to protect him.
The politicians who had previously drank his expensive wine were now staring at the floor,
trying to look invisible.
The businessmen who had laughed at his cruel jokes were now whispering prayers,
hoping their own names wouldn't appear on the next data slide.
He was entirely alone,
stripped of his status,
his wealth,
and his unearned authority.
In a moment of pure,
unfiltered desperation,
he reached into his jacket pocket,
pulling out a small,
silver pocket knife he always kept hidden.
The blade flicked open with a sharp click,
gleaming under the bright,
interrogation-style white lights.
The surrounding guests screamed,
scrambling backward to get away from the unfolding violence.
"Stay back!"
Julian shouted,
his voice high-pitched and wild as he pointed the small blade toward my chest.
"Open these doors right now,
or I swear I will make sure you don't survive this night!"
I didn't flinch,
I didn't step back,
and my heart rate didn't even elevate by a single beat.
I had been trained by my father since I was a child,
learning how to read human movement,
anticipate threats,
and neutralize danger.
Julian was clumsy,
unskilled,
and fueled entirely by blind panic,
making him an incredibly easy target.
Before he could even take a step forward,
I moved with a fluid,
practiced speed that caught him completely off guard.
I stepped inside his reach,
my left hand slamming into his wrist,
forcing his arm upward and away from my body.
With a swift,
decisive twist,
I applied pressure to his joint,
causing the small silver knife to slip from his fingers and clatter onto the floor.
At the same time,
I brought my right elbow forward,
striking him hard across the jaw with a sharp,
resonant thud.
The force of the blow sent him spinning backward,
stumbling over his own feet before collapsing hard onto the polished marble.
He groaned loudly,
clutching his face as a fresh stream of dark blood began to leak from his nose.
The guests watched in absolute silence,
completely stunned by how quickly the tables had turned.
I stood over him,
looking down at his broken form with a look of pure,
unemotional detachment.
"You really should have learned how to fight,"
May you like
I murmured,
"instead of just learning how to bully."
