Chapter 13 - THE SEIZURE OF THE MATRIARCH'S ASSETS

Across town,

in her opulent penthouse suite,

Eleanor Vance was experiencing her own sudden descent into financial ruin.

She was dressed in a silk robe,

preparing to leave for an exclusive morning spa appointment with her wealthy friends.

Her private elevator opened with a soft chime,

but instead of her personal driver,

four federal agents stepped out.

They were carrying cardboard boxes and official seizure notices,

their expressions completely serious as they looked around the room.

"Eleanor Vance?"

the lead agent asked,

producing his federal identification badge with absolute confidence and authority.

"We are here to execute a federal asset forfeiture warrant on this property and all contents within."

Eleanor gasped in disbelief,

her hand flying to her throat as she stepped back against a gilded table.

"This is an absolute outrage!"

she screamed,

her voice trembling with a mixture of intense anger and mounting fear.

"Do you have any idea who I am,

or how many politicians my family has personally financed in this state?"

"We know exactly who you are,

Ms.

Vance,"

the agent replied calmly,

completely unmoved by her dramatic display of high-society outrage.

"And we also know about the thirty million dollars you illegally funneled through offshore shell companies last year."

Two agents began methodically packing her expensive jewelry boxes into the cardboard containers,

ignoring her frantic protests completely.

They stripped the priceless artwork from the walls,

cataloging each piece as federal property acquired through illegal financial activities.

Within an hour,

Eleanor was escorted out of the building,

wearing only a simple tracksuit and carrying nothing but her identification.

Her luxury sports car was loaded onto a flatbed tow truck,

to be auctioned off by the government.

She stood on the sidewalk,

watching her entire life of luxury vanish into the back of a federal vehicle.

She tried to call her son,

but his phone went straight to a generic voicemail recording,

offering no comfort.

The Vance name,

which had commanded absolute respect and fear in this city for generations,

was now completely worthless.

They had built their entire empire on a foundation of lies,

cruelty,

and systematic intimidation of the weak.

But they had finally crossed the path of a man who could not be intimidated,

and their foundation was breaking apart.

Henry watched the news reports from the clinic,

his expression remaining perfectly calm as the media covered the story.

The public destruction of the family was necessary,

ensuring they could never rebuild their corrupt influence in the future.
