Chapter 18 - THE FINAL FACE-TO-FACE CONFRONTATION

Nathan Vance sat frozen behind the steering wheel of the utility truck,
his eyes wide with pure, unadulterated terror.
He had watched his highly trained mercenary team get completely dismantled in less than two minutes by a single man.
He tried to shift the truck into reverse,
his frantic hand grinding the gears loudly as he attempted to escape the alley.
But before he could press his foot down onto the accelerator,
the driver's side window violently shattered into a thousand tiny pieces.
Henry's powerful hand reached through the broken glass,
grabbing Nathan by his expensive silk tie and pulling him forward.
He unlocked the door from the inside,
dragging the screaming billionaire out of the vehicle and throwing him onto the wet asphalt.
Nathan slid through the puddles of rain,
his expensive clothes tearing as he scrambled backward until his back hit the brick wall.
He looked up at Henry,
who was standing over him in the pouring rain,
looking like an absolute force of nature.
"Please,
Henry,
let's talk about this like reasonable businessmen,"
Nathan sobbed,
his arrogance completely gone, replaced by cowardice.
"I will give you whatever you want,
millions of dollars,
the estate,
the corporate shares,
anything you ask for."
"You truly think everything can be bought,
don't you,
Nathan?"
Henry said,
his voice dripping with a profound contempt that cut deeper than any blade.
"You thought you could buy my daughter's dignity,
her safety,
and her life with your family's dirty money.
You thought you could buy the silence of this entire city while you broke her apart piece by piece."
He stepped closer,
the toe of his heavy work boot resting against Nathan's trembling chest,
pinning him to the wet brick wall.
"I don't want your money,
and I don't want your worthless corporate shares,"
Henry whispered,
his cold eyes staring into Nathan's soul.
"I want you to face the absolute reality of what you have done,
and spend the rest of your life in a dark cell."
Nathan wept openly now,
the rain washing the tears across his pale face as he realized his power was gone.
He was no longer a wealthy billionaire,
no longer an untouchable prince of a corrupt dynasty,
and no longer a master of his world.
He was simply a pathetic,
broken abuser caught in the grip of an unforgiving father who had come to collect the debt.
Henry produced his satellite phone,
pressing a single key to connect directly to the federal tactical team waiting nearby.
"The primary suspect is neutralized and secured at the northern clinic location,"
Henry said flatly into the device.
"Come pick up the garbage,
May you like
and make sure the transport is completely secure from any interference."
He stood over Nathan in absolute silence until the distant sound of federal sirens began to echo through the city.
