Chapter 19 - The Rebirth of the Firm

Spring returned to the city,

melting the winter ice and bringing fresh green life back.

I stood inside the grand opening ceremony of the new Marsh-Wright Auditing Firm downtown.

I had decided to establish a company dedicated to exposing corporate fraud for poor victims.

The firm would provide free legal and forensic auditing services to exploited workers everywhere.

"It's a beautiful tribute to your roots,"

Chloe Vance said,

joining me at the reception.

She had joined our design team,

helping to build sustainable housing for our foundation.

"I want people to know that an auditor can change the world,"

I replied happily.

"We don't just count numbers,

Chloe,

we uncover the truths that powerful people hide."

A group of young female interns approached us,

their faces filled with bright, eager ambition.

"Madam Chairperson,

can you tell us how you managed to catch the Vance family?"

one asked.

I smiled,

looking at my reflection in the polished glass wall of the new boardroom.

"By never letting them see me as a threat,"

I told them with absolute sincerity.

"When you are at the bottom,

people assume you are blind to their crimes."

"But that is exactly when you see everything clearly,

without any distractions or illusions."

"Use your position to watch,

to learn,

and to gather your evidence patiently."

"And when the time is right,

strike with the absolute force of the truth behind you."

They nodded eagerly,

writing down my words as if they were corporate scripture for success.

Ethan walked over,

holding a glass of sparkling water and looking incredibly proud of me.

"The mayor is outside waiting to cut the ribbon with you,

Vivian,"

he announced.

I took a deep breath,

feeling the immense weight of my journey settling into a beautiful balance.

I had gone from a pregnant woman mopping floors to the savior of a billionaire dynasty.

I had faced the wolves of greed,

and I had turned their own traps against them completely.

I walked out to the front steps,

where a large crowd of reporters and citizens cheered loudly.

The ribbon was a bright,

vibrant red color,

stretching across the grand entrance of the firm.

I snipped it with the silver scissors,

the crowd erupting into a beautiful wave of applause.

The world was changing for the better,

and my family was leading the charge into light.
