Lenette became Dr. Lenette Foster eventually.
Doctorate in child development.
Not medical doctor.
Estelle never let anyone forget the distinction.
She built a hospital child-life program focused partly on children from high-control households.
No Bellamy branding.
I donated once through the hospital foundation anonymously.
They found out.
Lenette yelled at me for circumventing donor-recognition policy.
Good.
Power balance repaired.
At Estelle’s college graduation, Lenette sat with family.
Not staff section.
There was no staff section.
Estelle hugged her.
“You saved me.”
Lenette answered the same thing she always did.
“I stood up once. You did the rest.”
