CHAPTER 26

The wedding day was beautiful,

blessed with cloudless blue skies.

We chose a quiet garden venue,

surrounded by blooming white roses and ancient trees.

Only our closest friends and family were present,

keeping the atmosphere intimate and sacred.

My dress was simple yet elegant,

made of flowing ivory lace that caught the gentle breeze.

As I walked down the aisle,

my eyes locked onto Liam,

who stood near the altar.

He looked incredibly handsome,

tears glistening in his eyes as he watched me approach.

Rebecca Lawson stood on the front row,

smiling proudly like a second mother.

We exchanged vows we had written ourselves,

promises built on trust,

respect,

and enduring strength.

"I promise to stand by you in every storm,"

Liam vowed,

his voice rich with emotion.

"And to cherish the peace we fought so hard to win."

"I promise to love you without fear,"

I replied,

looking into his beautiful soul.

"And to build a life where our joy is limitless."

The minister pronounced us husband and wife,

and the cheers of our friends filled the air.

The reception lasted long into the night,

filled with dancing,

laughter,

and heartfelt toasts.

For the first time in my life,

I felt completely safe.

The past was finally where it belonged,

behind us,

unable to touch the beauty of our present.

We left for our honeymoon the next morning,

traveling to a quiet cottage on the coast of Maine.

Days were spent walking along the rocky shores,

listening to the soothing sound of the ocean waves.

Nights were filled with deep conversations,

wrapped in warm blankets by a crackling fire.

One evening,

as we watched the sunset over the water,

Liam held me close from behind.

"What are you thinking about,

Emily,"

he murmured against my hair.

"I am thinking about how far we've come,"

I answered,

leaning back into his strength.

"And how beautiful the horizon looks,

when you are no longer afraid of the dark."

He kissed my shoulder gently,

as the last rays of sun dipped below the ocean.

May you like

The future was a blank canvas,

and we were ready to paint it together.
