Chapter 6 - THE BOARDROOM SNARE

The corporate headquarters of Cole & Vance Financial stood in the heart of downtown Denver—a gleaming glass skyscraper overlooking the city.
By 10:45 a.m., the main board room on the twentieth floor was filled with high-profile investors, bank representatives, and senior corporate partners.
Julian Vance sat near the head of the long marble conference table, wearing an immaculate Italian suit, sipping espresso with an air of complete arrogance.
Adrian stood at the podium, adjusting his silk tie and clicking through the introductory slides of his presentation.
At 11:00 a.m., Adrian cleared his throat, commanding the room’s full attention.
“Gentlemen, ladies, thank you for joining us today,” Adrian began, his voice booming with practiced charisma. “Today marks the official merger of Cole Financial with Vance Capital Holdings, backed by ten million dollars in physical real estate assets.”
He clicked his remote, bringing up a high-definition photograph of my father’s historic estate.
“This property,” Adrian announced proudly, “has been fully transferred into our holdings, providing our firm with an unencumbered foundation for our new credit line.”
The investors nodded, murmuring approvingly as they looked at the property appraisal figures on their tablets.
Julian smiled at Adrian, giving him a subtle thumbs-up from across the room.
“Now,” Adrian continued, picking up a pen from the podium. “I will execute the digital credit agreement with First National Bank.”
He bent over the electronic pad, signing his name with a flourish.
