Chapter 7 - THE REVEAL

Every head in the room turned toward the entrance.
I walked into the boardroom wearing a tailored dark velvet suit, flanked by Marcus Sterling and four uniformed officers led by Detective Ramirez.
Adrian’s pen stopped mid-air. The color drained from his face so fast he looked like a corpse in a suit.
“V-Victoria?!” Adrian stuttered, gripping the edges of the podium. “What are you doing here?! This is a private corporate meeting!”
Julian stood up angrily, gesturing toward the guards. “Security! Who authorized these people to enter our floor?!”
“I authorized them, Julian,” Marcus Sterling announced, pulling a federal court injunction from his leather folder and laying it in front of the lead bank representative. “As lead counsel for the Victoria Cole Revocable Trust, I am serving an immediate freeze on all transactions involving Vance Capital Holdings.”
The lead investor gasped, dropping his pen. “Freeze?! On what grounds?!”
“On the grounds of grand larceny, corporate forgery, and identity theft,” Detective Ramirez stated, stepping forward with steel handcuffs hanging from her belt.
Adrian let out a forced, nervous laugh, trying to regain control of the room. “This is absurd! My wife is having a nervous breakdown! She’s upset because we’re going through a private personal separation!”
I walked slowly down the center aisle of the boardroom, stopping right in front of the large projection screen.

“I’m not having a nervous breakdown, Adrian,” I said, my voice echoing with terrifying, crystal-clear authority. “I’m holding the remote.”
I pulled a small black drive from my pocket, plugged it into the podium interface, and pressed play.
