Chapter 8 - The Immediate Expulsion Of Toxic Privilege
The word 'bastard' echoed across the terrace,
striking like a physical whip against the stone pillars.
Before Caleb could even open his mouth to respond,
a sharp, clear voice rang out from the side hallway.
"That is enough!"
Grace Miller stepped out from the shadows,
holding Lily protectively in her arms,
her spine straight and her chin lifted with an unbreakable dignity that stunned everyone present.
She had spent years swallowing her pride to protect her daughter,
but watching someone insult her innocent child in front of an entire audience ignited a fire deep within her soul.
Caleb looked over at Grace with profound respect,
stepping down from the stage to stand beside her.
Sloane stopped mid-stride,
her face twisted in absolute disgust as she pointed a manicured finger directly at Grace.
"You!"
Sloane shrieked,
her voice cracking with hysteria.
"You ruined everything!
You and your miserable little parasite!"
Caleb’s face went dark with an icy fury that silenced even the bravest guests in the room.
He signaled toward the main estate security guards stationed near the perimeter.
"Nathaniel,"
Caleb called out to his head of security,
who was already stepping forward.
"Escort Miss Mercer off the property immediately."
Nathaniel nodded firmly,
stepping directly into Sloane's path with two massive security officers flanking him.
"You cannot do this to me!"
Sloane thrieked,
thrashing her arms as Nathaniel gently but firmly grabbed her by the elbows to guide her toward the gates.
"Caleb!
You will regret this!
My father will ruin your company!
You'll be begging for me by tomorrow morning!"
Her screams faded down the grand gravel driveway as security efficiently removed her from the estate,
leaving behind a stunned, breathless silence among the three hundred elite guests.
Caleb turned back to look at the crowd,
his jaw set and his eyes piercing through the sea of wealthy hypocrites.
"The party is over,"
Caleb announced calmly into the microphone.
"Drivers,

please bring around vehicles for our guests.
Goodnight."
