Chapter 15 - THE SEIZURE OF THE CORPORATE ASSETS

Following the guilty verdict and sentencing of Victoria and Richard Sterling,
the federal government moved swiftly to execute the final asset seizure orders across New York,
Boston,
and Connecticut.
Commercial properties,
luxury vehicles,
offshore bank accounts,
and Julian's failing restaurant chain were all placed under the direct receivership of the Arthur Sterling Estate Foundation.
I stood on the front steps of the Greenwich estate alongside Agent Marcus Vance,
watching as federal marshals affixed bright red seizure notices to the massive iron front gates.
"The corporate dissolution is complete,
Colonel,"
Agent Vance reported,
closing his leather folio.
"Every hidden asset has been successfully recovered and repatriated back into the primary trust."
"Thank you for your diligence,
Agent Vance,"
I replied,
saluting him briefly.
"This case proved that no amount of wealth or legal maneuvering can permanently bury the truth."
Julian staggered down the stone steps toward us,
his designer clothes replaced by cheap civilian wear,
his restaurant empire completely liquidated and gone forever.
"What am I supposed to do now,
Sienna?"
he muttered bitterly,
refusing to meet my eyes.
"You took everything."
"I took back what belonged to Dad,"
I corrected him calmly.
"And as for what you do now,
Julian,
you can start by getting an honest job and earning your own living,
just like millions of other people do every single day."
Julian scoffed under his breath,
turning away and walking down the long driveway toward the public highway without another word.
I watched him go,
feeling neither malice nor pity,
only a profound sense of detachment from a world I had long since outgrown.
The estate was silent now,
May you like
emptied of its toxic inhabitants,
ready to be transformed into a charitable foundation honoring my father's true legacy of quiet philanthropy and integrity.
