Chapter 11 - The Demands of the Ignorant

The mother's eyes slowly swept across the large room once,

her gaze heavy and destructive.

Every person she looked at felt an immense physical pressure slam into their chest,

forcing them to gasp for air.

Her eyes lingered on the guards,

then on the boutique owners,

and finally,

they landed back on Scarlett.

"You think your little Crimson pack holds power here?"

the mother asked,

her voice laced with supreme,

ancient mockery.

Without another word,

she allowed her true,

unfiltered power to violently erupt from her body.

A massive wave of pure,

golden energy blasted outward from her center,

shattering every single mirror and glass display case in the entire boutique simultaneously.

The sound of breaking glass was absolutely deafening,

like a thunderstorm exploding indoors.

The sheer force of her aura was so immense that the heavy guards holding Ivy were instantly thrown backward.

They crashed hard against the stone walls,

groaning in agony as they fell to the floor,

unable to stand.

Kane felt his knees give way completely,

the absolute authority of a true Ancient Alpha slamming him down onto the marble.

He tried to fight it,

his muscles straining,

but the pressure was like having a mountain placed upon his back.

Beside him,

Scarlett let out a terrified shriek as she was forced down to her knees as well.

Her hands planted firmly on the cold floor,

her fingers clawing at the marble as she gasped for breath.

The phantom image of the giant white wolf behind the mother grew solid,

its massive,

glowing golden eyes staring down at the trembling wolves.

The power was so absolute that several of the weaker guards began to involuntarily transform,

their bodies shifting into their wolf forms just to survive the crushing pressure.

They lay on the floor,

their tails tucked tightly between their legs,

whimpering and whining like wounded pups.

The mother walked forward slowly,

her high heels clicking softly on the shattered glass that littered the floor.

She walked right past Kane,

not even granting him a single glance as he groveled at her feet.

She stopped directly in front of Ivy,

her expression instantly softening into one of deep, maternal love.

She reached down with her slender hands,

gently lifting her daughter up from the cold floor.

She pulled Ivy into a warm,

protective embrace,

her scent completely washing away the foul odors of the Crimson pack.

"You did well,

my sweet girl,"

the mother whispered softly into Ivy's hair.

"The game is finally over now."

She pulled back,

using a delicate silk handkerchief to gently wipe the blood from Ivy's cut cheek.

Then,

she turned around slowly to face the two miserable creatures kneeling before her.

Her eyes burned with a lethal,

unforgiving gold as she looked down at Kane and Scarlett.
