Chapter 8 - The Arrival of the Midnight Convoy

The heavy doors of the lead black vehicles opened simultaneously,
and dozens of highly disciplined,
well-armed men in flawless black suits stepped out into the rain.
They moved with absolute,
lethal precision,
instantly forming a secure corridor from the main vehicle to the boutique's entrance.
Every single one of them was a high-ranking wolf,
their collective power radiating outward in waves that crushed the surrounding air.
Then,
the rear door of the central,
most heavily armored vehicle gracefully opened.
A single pair of high,
polished black heels stepped onto the wet,
cobblestone street,
moving with an effortless grace.
Ivy's mother stepped out into the dim light,
her posture perfectly straight,
her presence completely dominating the entire avenue.
She was wearing a tailored,
immaculate black silk suit and a long,
flowing coat that billowed softly behind her in the cold wind.
Her dark hair was styled perfectly,
and her beautiful face was an absolute mask of cold,
regal indifference.
She did not look at the grand buildings,
she did not look at the crowd of curious onlookers gathering in the distance.
Her piercing,
golden-brown eyes were fixed solely on the heavy glass doors of Lumi Bridal.
Behind her,
a massive,
spectral shadow of a giant white wolf seemed to flicker in the air,
an aura so immense it made the atmosphere feel thick and unbreathable.
"She didn't even bring a weapon,"
Kane whispered,
his voice cracking as he watched her approach through the window.
"She doesn't need one,"
the head guard replied,
his voice filled with absolute,
worshipful awe.
"Her presence alone is enough to kill a lesser wolf."
The mother walked forward calmly,
her guards opening the heavy glass doors of the boutique for her without a sound.
As she stepped inside,
the sudden shift in air pressure was so violent that several crystal ornaments shattered onto the floor.
The local guards stationed inside instinctively raised their guns,
their hands shaking violently as they pointed them at her.
Half of the guards had already drawn their weapons the exact second her massive convoy showed up outside.
But the mother didn't even deign to look at the barrels of the guns pointed directly at her chest.
She simply walked straight through them,
her steps slow,
measured,
and entirely unbothered by their pathetic threats.
As she passed,
the guards involuntarily took a step back,
their bodies refusing to obey their commands to shoot.
Their inner wolves were screaming at them to drop to their knees and beg for mercy from the supreme sovereign.
She stopped in the center of the grand room,
her eyes sweeping over the lavish decorations before finally landing on the people standing there.
"Now then,"
she said,
her voice smooth as silk but heavy as iron,
May you like
echoing off the high ceilings.
"Let me see who exactly had the absolute nerve to humiliate my daughter right in front of me."
