The recovery was slow,
It was painful,
But it was necessary,
Alexander spent his days working on his foundation,

But he was patient,
He was in no rush,
He was enjoying the journey,

The sunrise,
The coffee,

The conversations,
He was grateful for the lessons he had learned,
He was grateful for the truth,
He was grateful for the life he was building,
He looked at the mirror,
He saw a man who was stronger,
Who was wiser,
Who was real,
He smiled at himself,
He was ready,
He was finally ready,
