The news of the scandal broke early the next morning,
It was everywhere,
The "Bride of Lies" was the headline,
The story of the stolen necklace,
The framing of the maid,
The recordings,
It was all there,
The public was outraged,
The social media was on fire,
Elena was the most hated person in the city,
Alexander watched the news,
He saw the interviews,
The reports,
The analysis,
He saw the truth being revealed,
He saw the vindication of the maid,
He saw the bravery of the little girl,
He felt a strange sense of closure,
The truth had come to light,
And it was justice,
He received a call from his lawyer,
"Alexander, the police are moving forward,
They have enough evidence,
They are going to charge her,"
"Good,"
Alexander said,
"I’m glad,"
"And the media?"
"Let them write what they want,"
"And what about you?"
"I’m moving on,"
Alexander said,
He was ready,

He looked at the empty room,

He went to the kitchen,
He made some breakfast,
He sat down at the table,
He looked at the newspaper,

The empty pews,
The abandoned decorations,

And he was looking forward to the future,
He finished his breakfast,
He walked to the door,
