Chapter 11 - The Final Plea

Julian dropped to his knees right there on the polished ballroom floor.
"Chloe, please, look at me," he cried, tears streaming down his face.
"I love you. I've always loved you. I made a terrible mistake."
"Give me one more chance. We can start over, away from all of this."
The guests gasped, whispering to each other as they recognized the fallen billionaire.
Victoria also bowed her head, her proud posture completely shattered.
"I am sorry, Anastacia," Victoria whispered, her voice cracking.
"I shouldn't have treated you that way. I was arrogant and foolish."
"Please, don't destroy our lives. Have mercy on us."
Chloe stood above them, looking down with an expression of pure ice.
She slowly removed the black lace glove from her right hand.
She revealed the ugly, jagged pink scar that ran across her palm.
"Do you see this?" Chloe asked, holding her hand up for the entire room to see.
"This is the mark of your love, Julian. This is the mark of your respect, Victoria."
"You burned me, you threw me into glass, and you left me to bleed on the floor."
"You didn't care about my life when you thought I was nobody."
"So why should I care about yours now that you are nothing?"
Julian reached out to touch her shoe, but she stepped back with disgust.
"Your love is fake. Your apology is fake. You only regret getting caught."
"You wanted a divorce because I was a 'gutter orphan'."
May you like
"Well, you got your wish. You are officially free of me."
"And now, you are free to experience the gutter for yourselves."
