Chapter 11 - The temporary duty orders

My temporary duty orders were printed because I am forty-three and still occasionally trust paper more than battery percentages.
They lay on the table beneath my notebook.
Michael claimed he did not see them.
Possible at first.
Tyler’s video later showed him knocking them aside when he slammed my wrist onto the table.
One page fell to the floor.
He stepped on it.
The orders did not contain secret information.
They listed:
My name.
Rank.
Service.
Authorized travel period.
Reporting location.
Basic administrative references.
Enough to challenge the idea that I appeared with nothing but a mysterious phone and a story.
Michael’s lawyer said forged orders can exist.
True.
That was why verification mattered.

Michael had access to verification.
That became the entire case.
