State prosecutors reviewed Michael’s conduct involving the weapon, restraint, and physical force.
Local authorities examined whether he misused official authority.
Federal investigators reviewed whether any federal statutes applied because the threat occurred during an official military communication and involved government equipment.
My military chain examined my own conduct.
The town examined Michael’s employment.
None of those systems automatically controlled the others.
That frustrated reporters.
People wanted:
One arrest.
One judge.
One grand verdict.
Reality separated questions.
Was pointing the weapon criminal?
Was cuffing me lawful?
Was the shove intentional?
Did Michael misuse his office?
Did he obstruct evidence by deleting the verification message?
Did my prior threatening text matter?
Did the federal response follow protocol?
Each required its own evidence.
The handcuffs were not a magic key.
