Part 21

The morning before our flight back home, Alexander and I met Sofia and Ethan for a quiet breakfast at an outdoor cafe.

The London weather was unusually perfect, with a warm breeze and a completely clear blue sky.

Sofia reached across the table and placed her hand over mine, her ring finger catching the morning sunlight.

A beautiful, simple vintage diamond ring was nestled perfectly on her finger.

"Ethan asked me to marry him last night," she whispered, her eyes shining with pure, unadulterated joy.

"And I said yes without a single second of hesitation."

Ethan looked at Alexander and me, his expression earnest, respectful, and deeply sincere.

"I promise to love her, honor her, and protect her for the rest of my life," he said firmly.

Alexander stood up, walking around the table to wrap Ethan in a fierce, welcoming embrace.

"You already have my blessing, son," Alexander said, his voice thick with emotion. "Welcome to the family."

I pulled Sofia into a tight hug, tears of overwhelming happiness flowing freely down my face.

Two years ago, we were sitting in a cold courtroom, watching a ruthless family try to destroy her life.

We had walked out into the sunshine back then, hoping for a simple chance at survival.

But Sofia hadn't just survived—she had thrived, conquered, and found the ultimate happiness she deserved.

As Alexander and I finally sat in the back of the airport car later that afternoon, we looked out at the London skyline.

"We did it," Alexander said softly, looking over at me with a peaceful expression.

"Yes, we did," I replied, leaning back against the seat and taking a deep, relaxed breath.
