Part 47

Alexander and I approached the bedside slowly, our hearts hammering against our ribs as we looked down at the tiny miracle in Sofia's arms.

Little Maya had a thick tuft of dark hair, a tiny button nose, and long, delicate fingers that were currently curled tightly around her mother's thumb.

She let out a soft, tiny sigh in her sleep, completely unaware of the immense, overwhelming love that was surrounding her.

Sofia looked up at Alexander, a soft, meaningful smile on her lips as she carefully shifted the baby, offering her to her father.

"Do you want to hold her, Dad?" Sofia asked gently, knowing how much this moment meant to the man who had fought to protect them all.

Alexander looked momentarily terrified, his large, powerful hands trembling slightly as he stepped forward to accept the precious bundle.

He cradled the tiny baby against his broad chest with an incredible, breathtaking gentleness, his eyes locked onto her small, peaceful face.

As he looked down at his granddaughter, a single, heavy tear slipped down his cheek, landing softly on the edge of her white blanket.

May you like

"Welcome to the world, Maya," Alexander murmured, his voice rich and deep, vibrating with a fierce, unconditional vow of protection. "You are safe here. You will only ever know love, peace, and beautiful days."

Watching my strong, resilient husband hold that tiny baby was the most beautiful sight I had ever witnessed in my entire life.
