Chapter 9 - MY OWN BAD TEXTTwo weeks before the assault, I sent Kelsey:

Stay away from my husband, my children, and my company. If you siphoned one more dollar through Northvale, I’ll make sure every invoice you touched gets torn apart in court.

She replied:

You sound insane.

I sent:

Come near my kids and find out how sane I am.

That was worse.

Not a direct threat to hurt her.

Still ugly.

Still useful for her defense.

My attorney, Denise Porter, read it after the assault.

“You gave them a hostility narrative.”

“She was sleeping with my husband.”

“True.”

“She was involved with suspicious payments.”

“Possibly.”

“She hit me.”

“Also true.”

“So?”

“So being right about several things does not turn every sentence you wrote into a good sentence.”

I hated lawyers when they sounded like Rachel.

Unfortunately, Rachel was also a lawyer.
