Audrey returned to Fiorelli House eight years after the mop as operations director for a hotel housekeeping conference.
Not as maid.
Not revenge.
Career.
She had worked her way through supervisor, assistant manager, rooms division, then operations.
The conference used the renovated East Wing.
She walked past the hallway where she had been hit.
I asked:
“You okay?”
“Yes.”
Then she looked at me.
“Are you?”
“Mostly.”
She smiled.
No trauma ownership contest.
Then Mother came from Villa Sereno for lunch.
Audrey hugged her.
Mother said:
“You’re too important to visit now.”
Audrey replied:
“You’re too dramatic.”

Then Veronica happened to be present? Avoid coincidence.
