Chapter 12 - Gathering the Legal Wolves

By the next morning, David was sitting in a county jail cell, held without bail for violating a protective order and criminal child endangerment.

“And the house?” I asked, looking around the living room that finally felt peaceful.

“The judge has granted us a default judgment in the divorce,” Clara explained. “You have been awarded sole ownership of the Bellevue property, full physical and legal custody of Lily, and his remaining retirement accounts have been frozen and transferred to a trust fund for Lily’s medical and college expenses.”
