Chapter 18 - The Battle for Survival
The front door was kicked open with a loud crash,
the wood splintering into pieces,
as the two men burst into the cottage.
Julian didn't hesitate,
he swung the iron poker with all his might,
striking the first man across the chest,
sending him crashing into the coffee table.
The second man lunged forward,
grabbing Julian's arm,
trying to wrest the weapon away,
initiating a brutal struggle.
"Run,
Clara!
Take Lily and run!"
Julian shouted,
as he wrestled with the intruder,
using all his strength to push him back.
Clara grabbed Lily's hand,
rushing toward the back door,
but her weakness overcame her,
and she stumbled,
falling to her knees.
The first man recovered,
seeing Clara on the floor,
and moved toward her with a wicked smile,
reaching into his jacket for a weapon.
Julian saw the danger,
with a surge of adrenaline,
he broke free from the second man,
diving across the room,
tackling the attacker to the ground just in time.
The room was a chaos of shouts,
broken furniture,
and desperate prayers,

protecting his wife and child from the clutches of death.
