Chapter 4 - The 6 AM Transfer Order

Julian reached into his suit jacket and pulled out his encrypted satellite smartphone.
He dialed a direct,
highly restricted number that bypassed all standard telecom networks.
The phone rang twice before a gravelly,
professional voice answered on the other end.
“Hail,” the voice barked.
“Marcus,” Julian said,
his voice entirely devoid of emotion.
“Get the tactical team assembled immediately.
”
“I want three armored transport vehicles parked in the subterranean garage of the Hail Tower within twenty minutes.
”
On the other end of the line,
Marcus—head of Hail Group’s elite private security division and a former SAS commander—didn't hesitate.
“Understood,
Mr.
Hail,” Marcus replied instantly.
“What’s the target?”
“Saint Anne’s Children’s Home on Delancey Street,” Julian instructed sharply.
“There is a six-year-old boy named Toby locked inside the restricted ward on the fourth floor.
”
“He is scheduled to be extracted by Vance’s private operatives at six o'clock this morning for an unauthorized offshore relocation.
”
“Your objective is to secure the boy,
neutralize any resistance from Vance's guards,
and bring him here unharmed.
”
“If anyone tries to stop you,
show them federal court order 88-B.
”
“If they still try to stop you,
use whatever force is necessary.
”
“Consider it done,
boss,” Marcus said before abruptly disconnecting the line.
Julian tossed the phone onto the coffee table and turned back to Elena.
“We need to move quickly,” Julian said,
his mind operating at maximum efficiency.
“Vance’s security detail monitors all police dispatch frequencies in lower Manhattan.
”
“If they intercept our movements,
they will accelerate the transfer timeline.
”
“We cannot let them reach Toby first.
”
Elena nodded firmly,
gently lifting sleeping Ivy into her arms.
“I’m ready,
Mr.
Hail.
”
“I’ve packed a bag with Toby’s medical records and Clara’s childhood blanket.
”
“He’s going to be terrified when strangers in tactical gear walk into his room.
”
“He needs someone he knows.
”
Julian looked at her with a new level of respect.
She wasn't just a housekeeper.
She was a soldier in the silent war for the Hail dynasty.
“You won't be going into the fray,
Elena,” Julian said firmly.
“You and Ivy will stay here in the penthouse under the protection of my personal inner-circle guards.
”
“I am going to Delancey Street myself.

“I need to look Victor Vance in the eye when I take back what is mine.
