Later that night, Thomas's brakes failed.
“Why didn't you tell me?”
“I was terrified.”
“You let me believe it was an accident.”
“I was twenty-three and pregnant. Richard threatened Lily before she was even born.”
Ryan wanted to be angry.
But he saw the terror Natalie had lived with.
Then Mara entered.
“We found Caroline.”
Ryan stood.
“Where?”
Mara placed a surveillance photograph on the table.
Caroline was entering a private bank.
