“My entire marriage was fake?”
“At first.”
The words surprised him.

Something flickered in Caroline's eyes.

“You were never supposed to discover Lily.”
“Why didn't you kill her?”
Caroline looked away.
Daniel answered.
“Because my sister isn't as strong as she pretends.”
Ryan turned.
Sister?
Caroline closed her eyes.
Daniel smiled.
“Richard Vale wasn't Caroline's biological father.”
Ryan understood before Daniel finished.
“Our father was.”
Silence filled the factory.
Caroline was Thomas Mitchell's daughter.
Ryan's half-sister.
Ryan recoiled.
Caroline shouted, “I didn't know when I met you!”
