“Authorize the transfer.”
Ryan moved toward the laptop.
Caroline watched him.
Ryan placed his hand on the biometric reader.
The system opened.
Forty-three million dollars appeared on the screen.
Daniel's eyes widened.
“Transfer everything.”
Ryan began typing.
Then Caroline suddenly slammed the laptop shut.
Daniel fired.
The gunshot echoed through the factory.
Caroline collapsed.
Ryan lunged at Daniel.
They crashed against the table.
The gun slid across the concrete.
Daniel punched Ryan.
Ryan fell.
Daniel reached for the weapon.
Then sirens screamed outside.
Mara had never lost the signal.
Ryan's microphone was only one tracker.
The photograph Lily had given him contained another.
Police stormed the building.
Daniel grabbed the gun.
Caroline, bleeding on the floor, caught his ankle.
He stumbled.
Ryan tackled him.
