Chapter 4 - A TREACHEROUS PLAN

In the grand kitchen,
the chefs were busy preparing,
the final course of the evening,
a magnificent dessert.
Julian walked in,
exuding authority,
dismissing the staff for a moment,
claiming he wanted to select,
the perfect wine himself.
The head chef nodded,
leading the kitchen staff out,
leaving Julian entirely alone,
with the rows of crystal glasses.
Elena watched from the pantry window,
her eyes wide with horror,
as Julian pulled the small vial,
from his tuxedo pocket.
He opened it carefully,
his hands steady,
showing no hesitation,
no guilt whatsoever.
He poured three drops,
of the clear,
deadly liquid,
into a specific crystal glass,
the one reserved for Evelyn.
He then poured a rare,
expensive red wine over it,
watching the liquid mix seamlessly,
disappearing completely into the dark red hue.
He swirled the glass gently,
ensuring the poison dissolved perfectly,
leaving no scent,
no color,
no sign of danger.
"To your health,
my dear,"
he whispered mockingly,
an evil glint in his eyes,
as he picked up the tray.
Elena felt sick to her stomach,
witnessing the cold-blooded preparation,
of a murder in broad daylight.
She recorded everything on her phone,
her hands shaking,
but her focus remained sharp,
capturing his face and the act perfectly.
This was the ultimate proof,
the undeniable video evidence,
that would destroy Julian,
and save Evelyn.
Julian walked out of the kitchen,
carrying the tray of wine,
heading towards the grand ballroom,
where his unsuspecting wife waited.
Elena followed him at a distance,
keeping her eyes on the poisonous glass,
knowing she had only minutes,
to intervene.
The ballroom was crowded,
making it difficult to move quickly,
as guests blocked her path,
chatting and laughing obliviously.
She pushed through the crowd,
ignoring the angry glances,
focused solely on Julian,
and the glass of death.
Her heart hammered violently,
fear threatening to paralyze her,
but love and loyalty pushed her forward.
She could see Evelyn standing near the center,
smiling beautifully,
May you like
talking to a prominent guest,
completely unaware of the doom approaching.
