Chapter 11 - The Betrayal of Victoria

Lady Eleanor stepped into the library,

a wicked smile plastered across her face,

enjoying her apparent victory.

Beside her stood Victoria,

the wealthy guest from the wedding,

looking smug and vengeful.

"You really thought you could outsmart us,

Clara,"

Lady Eleanor mocked,

extending her hand,

"hand over the ledger."

Clara held the book tightly against her chest,

refusing to back down.

"This book contains enough evidence to put you all away for life,"

Clara shouted,

defiant to the end.

Victoria laughed,

stepping forward,

"And who will believe a disgraced bride and a common maid?"

"The federal agents will,"

Elena spoke up,

her voice ringing with unexpected strength.

Lady Eleanor signaled the guards,

"Take the book and dispose of them,

make it look like a tragic accident."

Before the guards could move,

Victoria's phone rang loudly,

shattering the tense silence.

She answered it,

and her face instantly turned pale,

the smug look vanishing from her features.

"What do you mean,

the police are outside,"

Victoria gasped,

her voice shaking with sudden terror.

Clara smiled,

revealing a small device hidden in her pocket,

"I live-streamed this entire conversation to the authorities,

Victoria."

The front doors of the manor were smashed open,

and the sound of heavy footsteps filled the hallways.

The FBI rushed into the library,

their weapons drawn,

ordering everyone to drop to the ground.

Lady Eleanor screamed in frustration as the cuffs were slapped onto her wrists.
