Chapter 2 - The Secrets of the Blackstone Manor

The grand wedding reception dissolved into total chaos,
as family secrets began to unravel in front of high society.
Lady Eleanor ordered the security guards to clear the room,
hoping to suppress the scandal before it leaked to the press.
Julian grabbed Clara's arm roughly,
his face contorted in anger,
"You are making a scene over a peasant,"
he whispered harshly.
Clara pulled away from his grip,
her eyes burning with a fiery rage he had never seen before.
"She is my sister,"
she declared,
her voice echoing off the marble walls,
"and you will treat her with respect."
Meanwhile,
Julian's father,
Lord Blackstone,
watched from the shadows with a pale face.
He clutched his chest,
his breathing becoming shallow and erratic,
as if he had seen a ghost from his darkest nightmares.
Elena looked around the room,
terrified by the intense scrutiny of the wealthy elites,
who viewed her as nothing but dirt.
"Please,
Clara,
let me leave,"
Elena begged,
clutching the silver chain tightly in her small hands.
"You are never leaving my side again,"
Clara vowed,
helping her sister stand up from the cold floor.
Victoria tried to slip away through the side doors,
but Clara called out to her,
"You will apologize to my sister before you leave this house."
Victoria laughed nervously,
looking to Lady Eleanor for support,
but found none.
The tension in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife,
as decades of lies began to crack.
Clara's parents,
who had arrived late,
walked into the ballroom just in time to see the commotion.
Their mother,
Margaret,
saw the locket in Clara's hand,
and gasped loudly,
pressing her hand against her mouth.
"My baby,"
Margaret cried out,
her eyes fixing onto Elena's face,
recognizing the daughter she lost so long ago.
She ran across the polished floor,
her high heels clicking rapidly,
ignoring the gasps of the onlookers.
She threw her arms around Elena,
weeping uncontrollably,
as the truth washed over the entire family.
Lord Blackstone watched the reunion with a sinking heart,
knowing his deepest sins were about to be exposed.
He looked at Julian,
giving him a subtle,
dangerous nod,
signaling that they needed to control the situation immediately.
