Sophie turned her back on the bickering relatives,
focusing her attention entirely on her grandfather.
She looked at Mr.
Harrison,
who immediately stepped forward,
holding the legal documents and a sleek black pen.
"Where do I sign?"
Sophie asked,
her voice clear,
cutting through the murmurs of the angry family members.
Victoria tried to rush forward to stop her,
but the lawyer firmly blocked her path with a stern warning.
"Touch those documents,
and I will have the police escort you from the property immediately,"
Harrison said.
Sophie took the pen,
her hand steady as she looked at the papers that promised millions of dollars.
She looked at the old man,
who was watching her with a mixture of hope and deep regret.
"Grandfather,"
Sophie said softly,
using the title for the very first time in her life.
"I will sign these papers,
but not for the reasons you think."
"I don't want your mansion,
and I don't want the wealth that caused so much hatred in this family."
