Chapter 25

The next morning,

the train finally arrived at their small,

familiar town station.

As they stepped onto the wooden platform,

the crisp,

clean air of the countryside rushed to greet them.

They walked down the dirt path toward their cottage,

their hearts lifting with every single step they took.

As they rounded the corner,

a beautiful sight brought tears of joy to Evelyn’s eyes.

The front yard was filled with people from the town,

including the children who had promised to help.

They had not only watered the plants,

but they had also swept the porch and repaired a loose board on the fence.

"They're back!"

one of the little girls shouted,

pointing down the road with excitement.

The children ran toward them,

wrapping their arms around Sophie in a massive,

joyful group hug.

The neighbors smiled warmly,

welcoming them back with nods of respect and genuine happiness.

Sophie looked at the bustling,

happy scene,

then at the bright flowers swaying gently in the morning breeze.

This was their empire,

May you like

built not on stone walls,

but on love and community.
